Things to do on a smokey day in Kelowna….

I stepped outside this morning and instantly took in the overwhelming smell of smoke. Ugh. If I close my eyes, I can imagine that I am sitting by a campfire, enjoying the beauty and warmth of a fire, but as soon as I open my eyes, I can see only across the street. I can no longer see any of the mountains across the lake, or even the lake itself, which is a few hundred meters away. The fires in Washington state are sabotaging our last precious days of summer holidays and I am slightly annoyed. I mean, it is all about me, no? No. Seriously, annoyances aside, I am hoping that everyone down there is ok and that they get some much needed rain. Sigh. Sooooooo, I guess I’m staying in today.

I have already cleaned my bedroom closet, threw in some laundry and had breakfast with my boy, not to mention I’m on my second cup of coffee, and seriously thinking about a third.  It’a good day to paint and so I will. I am in the process of doing a large painting but today I am going to do a smaller project – bookmarks. I have a thing about bookmarks…. and books….. and actually paper. Pens and pencils, too. Is that weird? Never mind. I don’t need an answer to that.

Time to get to it. Before I know it, I will have dilly dallied my day away and wondered where it has gone, and what the heck I’ve accomplished.

Enjoy your day, lovelies, whatever you may find yourselves doing on this smokey day in Kelowna.
