Turkey anyone? – Happy Easter

I didn’t even formally plan an Easter get together this year, but had a turkey in my freezer and thought it might as well be cooked up and shared amongst friends and family. We ended up having my dad and Gary’s mom over and 7 of our neighbours, whom we have come to share a lot of our holidays with for the past many years. We always make it potluck and we always have a really nice time. It is great when you don’t have a lot of your family nearby (in my and Gary’s case, our siblings) to spend holidays with, that we can share these times with the neighbours we have come to love. There were a few bottles of wine put away ( and you know the love comes out when wine is involved!) The weekend was fantastic, not necessarily weather wise, but in the fact that we watched movies, visited, played tennis and guitar, read a book… it was almost like christmas around here, minus the gifts and snow! Last night we were invited out by another couple to their house for another turkey dinner… two in one weekend! I know there are some who get tired of turkey, but that’s not me…… turkey twice in one weekend suits me fine, with all the fixins…. I made a huge pot of turkey soup and froze a bunch of turkey broth, and if not for the clean up, I would make turkey dinners way more often.

The fruits trees are busy blooming but the weather is still cool for my liking…..there is some warmth in that sun when its out but it looks like rain and cloud for a few days around here. Yesterday there was sun for most of the day so I snapped a few photos of our fruit trees when I love them the best, just starting to bloom…Bloomsbloom

In the art department, I finally finished a recreation of a painting by an artist from Belgium whose work I really like and wanted to try out…. this is acrylic on canvas and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I am happy that I decided to give acrylics another go, as it seems to be getting easier now that I have tried a few different techniques …… definitely not as easy as I thought it might be! Ha! What ever is? Laters.Art
